Auburn High’s Lucky Backus and Auburn Mountainview’s Celeste Harms, Rebecca Nielsen and Joey Santos have won scholarships from the See Ya Later Foundation.
Backus will attend Green River College, where she will play soccer and work on becoming a physical therapist.
Harms will attend either the University ofWashington or Pepperdine to study business or communications.
Nielsen will attend BYU and study industrial design, and Santos will attend the UW and major in business.
The foundation’s scholarship committee awarded the four students after reviewing more than 30 applications. It narrowed down the candidates to the top 11 forinterviews.

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program has awarded $1,000 college scholarship to Auburn students Celeste Harms and Juanita Ortiz. Scholarships are awarded to students who strive to achieve their potential, who are catalysts for positive change in their communities, who are involved in their schools and who serve as models for their fellow students. Harms, who attends Auburn Mountainview High School, served as executive president of the student body, where she manages a variety of important tasks. Ortiz, who attends Muckleshoot Tribal School, worked at the Muckleshoot Finance Department through the tribe’s Youth Work Training Program. Her position with the finance department allowed her to train the office’s new front desk receptionist, enforcing leadership skills and confidence in her professionalism. …
