TOP Food & Drug, Smart Chicken donate chicken to food bank

The North Auburn TOP Food & Drug, in partnership with Smart Chicken, donated 670 pounds of organic chicken products to the Auburn Food Bank.

The Auburn Food Bank will receive organic chicken thighs, wings and tenders, which have a retail value of nearly $4,000.

“The Auburn Food Bank has done so much for our community as requests for assistance rise due to the economy and recent flooding,” said Kevin Ohler, store manager for the Auburn TOP Food & Drug. “We applaud its efforts and will continue to support it.”

The donation from MBA Poultry, producer of Smart Chicken products (www.smartchicken.com), is part of its Smart Giving program and was based on sales at TOP Food & Drug and Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores.

The Auburn TOP Food & Drug is at 17092 Auburn Way N. For more information, call the Auburn store at (253) 804-9606 or visit www.Top-Foods.com.
