Do you have an interesting story about people, events or trivia related to the city of Auburn? Maybe about how you or your family came to live here?

The theme for the Uniquely Auburn 2011 event is Auburn: An All-American Story.

Uniquely Auburn is a free community-sponsored celebration of cultural diversity recognizing people, places and events that make Auburn unique. The celebration will be held Jan. 30.

Whether your family arrived here centuries ago or last week, your tale is part of what makes the city unique.

The first Uniquely Auburn “tell your story” session will be on Saturday, Nov. 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at the White River Valley Museum, located at 918 H St. SE (just behind the public library). Uniquely Auburn organizers will be collecting short and interesting stories about the people and history of the city.

Organizers promise that this will be no boring history lesson. There will be fun, surprising and even spooky tales and trivia from the past and the present. A few of the stories that have already been collected include the vampire of Auburn High, the lion in the grocery store and the barber and the creepy customer.
