The White River Valley Museum is looking for some new volunteers.
An open museum volunteer orientation and training session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at the museum, 918 H St. SE, Auburn.
The museum hosts many opportunities for fun, interactive and rewarding volunteer hours. The museum is receptive to those looking for a monthly hour or single-day volunteer commitment.
The museum actively is seeking volunteers for:
• School field trip tour guides
• Interpretive docents
• Programming staffing
• Special event support
• Museum collections projects
Volunteers also are being sought for historic Mary Olson Farm.
Farm activities include summer camp, landscaping and maintenance projects, special event and special project support.

About the museum
The museum focuses on the history of Auburn from Native peoples, to pioneers, all the way to life in Auburn at the turn of the century. Additionally the museum’s KeyBank Gallery hosts four temporary exhibits per year on a variety of topics of local and cultural interest.
The museum provides an abundance of community programming including: school field trips, free family programs, kid’s camps, park events, lectures, film screenings, exhibit openings and much more.
About Mary Olson Farm
The farm is a living history gem located on Green River Road in Auburn. This restored 1902 subsistence farm is host to thousands of school children throughout the year as they learn about topics ranging from butter churning to stream ecology.
The farm is open to the public several weekends throughout the summer. Additionally the farm hosts a number of special events including the annual Hops and Crops craft beer and music festival.
