The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 242 calls for service between Dec. 19 and Dec 25 among them the following:

Dec. 19

Stove fire: 6:18 p.m., 2800 block of K Street Southeast. While firefighters were responding to a stove fire in a duplex, they found the fire already out and damage contained to the stove, a microwave and to nearby cabinets. Smoke detectors had alerted the occupants, and no one was hurt.

Dec. 20

Aid call: 2:04 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters and King County Medics helped an older woman who was suffering from severe shortness of breath, and medics transported her to a local hospital.

Dec. 21

Aid call: 2:15 p.m.,(Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responding to a kid who had fallen and hit his head on a sink arrived to find him with a small cut behind an eyebrow. His mother transported him to an urgent care clinic for stitches.

Dec. 22

Accident: 10 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters who responded to a one-vehicle accident learned that the older man who had been behind the wheel may have suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Firefighters treated the man at the scene, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Dec. 23

Aid call: 4:15 p.m., (North Auburn). Firefighters provided care for a man who was having respiratory difficulties, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC for additional care.

Dec. 24

Aid call: 4:03 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters who had been dispatched to an elderly patient who was having a seizure found him unconscious and breathing. Firefighters and King County Medics treated him at the scene, and medics transported him to MAMC.

Dec. 25

Aid call: 4:21 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a child who was having multiple seizures and medics transported him to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
