The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 254 calls for service between Jan. 7 and 13, among them the following:

Jan. 7

Aid call: 11:48 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a man for low blood sugar, allowing him to stay at home.

Jan. 8

Aid call: 10:49 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters assessed a man who’d overdosed on heroin, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for further treatment and evaluation.

Jan. 9

Car vs pedestrian: 5:21 p.m., (Lakeland). Once firefighters had helped a woman who was complaining of a minor knee injury after a vehicle hit her, they left her in her husband’s care.

Jan. 10

Aid call: 10:32 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters evaluated a young man who was complaining of abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported him to MAMC.

Jan. 11

Aid call: 8:16 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a woman who was struggling with a diabetes problem, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital.

Jan. 12

Motor vehicle fire: 8:48 a.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters extinguished a car fire that had started in its engine compartment.

Jan. 13

Illegal burn: 4:46 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a report of an illegal fire near an apartment building, a fire residents had already extinguished, and then explained outdoor burning regulations to bystanders.
