The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 221 calls for service between May 25 and May 31, among them the following:
May 25
Aid call: 4:45 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated a teenage girl who was suffering from severe abdominal pain, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).
May 26
Aid call: 6:07 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a man whose riding lawn mower had fallen from the bed of his pick-up truck, pinning him to the ground. Firefighters lifted the mower and treated the man for minor injuries. The man chose to go to the hospital on his own.
May 27
Aid call: 9:38 a.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated and treated an older woman who had fallen from a standing position, striking her head on some object. An ambulance transported the woman to a local hospital.
May 28
Aid call: 11:30 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to Alpac Elementary School, where they found a boy who had sustained an angulated forearm fracture. Firefighters splinted the arm at the scene, and a private ambulance transported the boy to MAMC.
May 29
Aid call: 7:28 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters evaluated an older man who had fallen and transported him to MAMC for further evaluation.
May 30
Aid call: 2:50 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a man who had cut his arm with a chainsaw topping a 30-foot-high tree, and Medic One transported him to Valley Medical Center in stable condition for further evaluation and treatment.
May 31
Brush fire: 3:50 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a brush fire near the 4200 block of A St. SE and finding a small one near the river extinguished it. The cause remains a mystery.
