Aug. 22

Grass fire: 10:02 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters snuffed and overhauled a small fire that had escaped a fire pit and spread to the lawn of a residence. Firefighters educated the homeowner about the permit process.

Aug. 23

Aid call: 6:52 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responded to a senior citizen complaining of abdominal pain that had started the day before. A private ambulance transported the man to Auburn Regional Medical Center.

Aug. 24

Downed power lines: 3:42 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to downed power lines at the 700 block of Butte Ave. On arrival, firefighters found that an operating forklift had knocked down the lines. The occupant of the forklift had pulled himself out before the firefighters’ arrival and was not hurt. Puget Sound Energy was dispatched to fix the lines. There was no significant power outage and nobody was hurt.

Aug. 25

Car versus fire hydrant: 7:03 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters evaluated a male who had lost control of his car and sheared off a fire hydrant. The male had no injuries and was left in the care of the Auburn Police Department.

Aug. 26

Aid call: 6:08 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters helped a woman suffering from abdominal pain with bleeding. A private ambulance transported the woman to ARMC in stable condition.

Aug. 27

Aid call: 10:27 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters and Medic 6 helped an ailing diabetic and left her in the care of her grandson.

Aug. 28

Brush fire: 5:45 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a brush fire on the north side of Highway 18 at C Street Southwest found a 50-by-100-foot fire that was reaching into some trees. Firefighters put it out.
