Aug. 16

Car accident: 11:24 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a car-versus-motorcycle accident found two injured riders and treated both people at the scene before a private ambulance transported them to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Aug. 17

Oven fire: 7:38 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responding to an oven fire set up a high-powered fan to blow away smoke that had filled the home. Once the smoke had cleared, firefighters could see that somebody had accidentally left an oven mitt inside the hot oven.

Aug. 18

Brush fire: 3:30 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a report of a brush fire near the Muckleshoot cemetery found a 10-foot-by-10-foot brush fire in a field near the cemetery. The crew used shovels and a water extinguisher to kill the fire.

Aug. 19

House fire: 5:27 (Auburn). Firefighters responding to the 4200 block of A Street Southeast for reports of smoke in a home in fact did find smoke coming from the roof and eaves of a mobile home. Crews attacked said fire from inside the building, killing it. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force is investigating.

Aug. 20

Aid call: 8:07 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped a young child after a dog bit him or her in the face. A private ambulance transported the child to Mary Bridge Hospital.

Aug. 21

Aid call: 8:58 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters evaluated and treated a woman in respiratory distress, and a private ambulance transported her to St. Francis Hospital.

Aug. 22

Aid call: 4:49 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Auburn Way South to help a man who had crashed on his skateboard. Firefighters and King County Medics checked the man over for a possible pelvic fracture, and King County Medic 6 transported him to ARMC.
