Feb. 7

Motor vehicle accident: 7:15 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters hurrying to an accident at the intersection of Howard Road and R Street Southeast found a young girl who had been violently ejected from a moving car, lying on the street. The girl was conscious but was not responding appropriately. After evaluating her, King County Medics transported her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Feb. 8

Aid call: 9:58 a.m., (South Auburn). A senior citizen suffering from respiratory distress at a private care facility got help from firefighters before a private ambulance whisked her off in stable condition to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Feb. 9

Explosion: 8:11 p.m., (Pacific). A report of an explosion heard in the area of Homer Avenue brought help on the run. Though firefighters searched the area, they couldn’t find a thing.

Feb. 10

Aid call: 6:40 p.m., (Auburn). A man had been in his vehicle in the drive-thru at Taco Time at the 4000 block of A Street Southeast when he suddenly accelerated forward, pushing the vehicle in front of him across the parking lot and into five other parked vehicles. Firefighters arrived to find several cars that had been involved in the collision and the driver of the car that had started the whole mess unconscious and unresponsive. Firefighters checked the driver out, and a private ambulance transported him to ARMC for further treatment.

Feb. 11

Motor vehicle accident: 12:06 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene of a collision involving two small vans. A private ambulance carted one driver off to ARMC for further evaluation. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Feb. 12

Aid call: 1:13 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a man with brain cancer who was complaining of a severe headache and vomiting. Firefighters provided care and then a private ambulance transported the man to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Feb. 13

Water leak: 11:38 a.m., (Pacific). The parking lot of the Cobble Court Apartment Complex at the 600 block of Ellingson Road had been flooding from a break in an underground water line before firefighters and the City of Pacific’s on-call response person arrived and shut down the water system.
