Aug. 30

Apartment fire: 9:46 a.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to an apartment fire in the 3700 block of Auburn Way South. At that locale, firefighters found heavy black smoke and flames pouring out of a second-story window, so they got to work and put it out. The Red Cross helped the displaced occupants, and the South King Fire Investigation Task Force began its investigation.

Aug. 31

Aid call: 5:44 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responded to a report of a man bitten by a dog, checked him out and left him where he was.

Sept. 1

Aid call: 9:09 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters helped a senior citizen who had fallen and likely fractured a hip. A private ambulance carried the injured man or woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Sept 2

Aid call: 7:18 p.m., (location not given). Firefighters responding to a reported dog bite found two females who had been attacked in their home by their four pit bull dogs. Firefighters transported the injured females to ARMC, where doctors treated their numerous puncture wounds.

Sept. 3

Aid call: 4:49 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responding to a male injured when his bicycle collided with a motor vehicle treated him at the scene, and a private ambulance transported him to St. Francis hospital for further treatment.

Sept. 4

Vehicle accident: 2:14 p.m., (Pacific). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a reported multi-car accident on Highway 167, where they came upon a single-vehicle accident with no injuries. Firefighters stayed on scene until crews cleared the roadway.

Sept. 5

Motor vehicle accident: 11:53 a.m., (Auburn). Valley Com sent firefighters to a motor-vehicle accident involving a fire and unconscious occupants, but people had already pulled the passengers out before firefighters arrived. King County Medics examined the two people, and Medic 6 and Medic 12 transported them to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further evaluation. Engine 32’s crew put out the fire.
