The Valley Regional Fire Authority contained and extinguished a detached garage fire early Wednesday morning.

The occupants of the adjacent home were able to safely exit their home. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

Fire units responded at 2:12 a.m. to a reported garage fire in the 2100 block of M Street Southeast that was extending into some trees. Arriving units found a detached garage that was fully engulfed in flames with numerous exposure structures that were jeopardized.

Crews quickly knocked down and doused the fire, protecting adjacent exposures.

The garage suffered extensive damage along with a number of vehicles.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Fire investigators are on the scene determining the fire’s cause and origin.
