Woman injured from shots fired at her while she was driving | Fire blotter

Between March 21 and March 26, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 270 calls for service, among them the following:

March 21

Water problem: 5:53 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a broken water pipe in the break room of a local bank, found the building’s water valve and stanched the flow.

March 22

Aid call: 9:57 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters treated a woman who had sustained minor injuries from shots fired at her while she was driving, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

Accident: 5:22 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters dispatched to an RV that had crashed into a ditch and rolled onto its side found upon arrival that the driver had already gotten himself out. The driver sustained minor injuries, and a private ambulance motored him to MAMC.

March 23

Landslide: 4:47 p.m. (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a report of a potential landslide on South 277th Street arrived to find small rocks and debris scattered across the busy roadway for about 300 feet. The lane of travel was blocked to help control traffic and provide safer driving conditions. Firefighters investigated the area, but found no obvious signs of a landslide. VRFA personnel worked with Puget Sound firefighters and coordinated with Kent’s public works department to clean the roadway.

March 24

CO alarm: 10:32 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm sounding in a home used air-monitoring tools to determine the residence had 60 PPM of CO. Firefighters used natural ventilation and a PPV fan to clear the residence of CO. The villain was a car idling at the back door.

March 25

Accident: 7:45 p.m. (Auburn). VRFA firefighters and King County paramedics who’d been dispatched to the 300 block of 15th Street Northwest found a vehicle that had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, rolled down an embankment onto the road below (B St. NW) and came to rest upside down in a drainage ditch. Firefighters found the driver had extricated himself from the vehicle with moderate injuries. He was treated at the scene, and a private ambulance zipped him to MAMC.

March 26

Accident: 11:12 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-vehicle, T-bone accident treated two people for minor injuries before private ambulances zipped them to local hospitals.
