Bertha Marie “Penny” Harvey

With family by her side, Bertha Marie “Penny” Harvey, peacefully went home to be with the angels on December 31, 2008 at the age of 97.She is survived by her son Donald Harvey, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren,and several friends and family that love and miss her dearly. Bertha lived in Auburn, Washington for the past sixty-four years. She enjoyed working with her hands, as she was very artistic and creative. She worked in oils and painted beautiful pictures while half blind, made necklaces and pictures out of bread dough and the list goes on and on. She was always ready to share her creative talents in teaching others.She had a deep passion for her family, but anyone who knew her realized that her biggest passion was the joy she got from taking care of her critters. She gave much of her time and effort in caring for community stray cats through Paws and the Humane Society. The memorable stories of her life and her wisdom will be greatly missed. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society, in her honor.
