Beverly May Dittus Flood, age 85, died in her home in Auburn, WA, on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. The cause most likely her failing heart and coronary artery disease. Born in Aberdeen, South Dakota March 10, 1924 She was the second to the eldest child of four. She lived on a farm with her husband John M. Dittus for 8 years, and then to Washington where her husband worked as a machinist for 32 years. She attended College and obtained her degree as an LPN, which she briefly worked as. She mainly did this for the knowledge and as a fall back career in the event she would need it. Beverly was also very active in her church Glendale Lutheran, in Burien, WA & taught Sunday School for many years. She also sang in the choir and was active in a ladies group. Upon moving to Auburn, WA, She was part of three quilting groups. Messiah Lutheran Church was also a large part of her life. She had many friends and was loved by many people.Survivors include her sister, Darlys Potter; daughters, Judy Rackley of Renton, WA, Jane Fairchild of Camas, WA; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and very dear friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Kamm; both brothers, Bill and James; her late husband of five years, James L. Flood; and her former husband, John M. Dittus.Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, November 27, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Auburn.
