James D. Rush, 91, passed away on January 5, 2015 after a short illness at cherished acres in Auburn, Washington. He was born May 16 1923 in Poulsbo, Washington. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite in 2001 and son James R. Rush in 2011, mother, father and brother. He is survived by his son Frank (Theresa), Rochester, Washington and daughter in law, Vera Rush, Enumclaw, Seven Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the US Army during World War II and was sent to the European theater. In 1945 he was stationed in France where he met his future wife, Marguerite deBien. His son, Frank was born in Dole France. Jim was honorably discharged in 1946 and returned to the Seattle area. His son, James R. was born in Bremerton in 1951. He held various jobs during his career including Boeing and an elementary school teacher. He retired in 1976 from his teaching career to care for his wife who had multiple sclerosis. A heartfelt thank you to Jenny Hendrickx and her staff at Cherished Acres Estates in Auburn, who cared for Jim for the past nine years. Their love and care are greatly appreciated.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Weeks Enumclaw Funeral Home, Viewing at 10.30, service at 11.30 and interment at Tahoma National Cemetery to follow. Donations can be made to the woundedwarriorproject.com in Jim’s name.
