Auburn, Auburn Riverside gymnasts qualify for district 4A tourney | Prep gymnastics

Auburn gymnasts Ashley Bechard and Bailie Davis, along with Auburn Riverside tumblers Luba Migdal and Hannah Wilson, all qualified for the district tournament with their performance at the South Puget Sound League 4A sub-district gymnastics meet this past Saturday at Mount Rainier High School.

Auburn gymnasts Ashley Bechard and Bailie Davis, along with Auburn Riverside tumblers Luba Migdal and Hannah Wilson, all qualified for the district tournament with their performance at the South Puget Sound League 4A sub-district gymnastics meet this past Saturday at Mount Rainier High School.

For the Trojans, seniors Bechard and Davis qualified individually for all four events.

Bechard posted a 8.325 on the vault, a 8.500 on the beam a 7.350 on the bars and 8.275 in the floor exercise.

Davis scored 8.275 on the vault, 8.300 on the beam, 9.050 in the floor exercise and 7.350 on the bars.

Auburn was 13th in the team competition with 135.550 points.

For the Ravens, freshman Migdal qualified with a 8.500 on the beam, a 8.000 on the bars and a 8.525 in the floor exercise.

Senior Wilson qualified for the beam with a 8.350.

Auburn Riverside notched 143.850 team points to finish 11th.

Emerald Ridge was first with 171.150.

Individually, Kentlake’s Ashley Pernell was first in the all-around with 37.025 and Kate Jacobsen of Puyallup was second with 36.625.

The West Central District III/Southwest District 4 Gymnastics Championships are 10 a.m. Saturday at Mount Rainier High School.

The Washington State 4A Gymnastics Championships are Feb. 21-22 at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.
