Auburn dynamo finishes strong in quad series racing

Auburn’s Gunnar Wicklund was a consistent placer on the quad-racing trail this season.

The 9-year-old boy, a third-grader at Hazelwood Elementary School, finished second in the 70-cc stock division for his age group in the World Off Road Championship Series.

Driving a Apex quad machine, Gunnar posted six podium finishes in nine series events, including a victory at Primm, Nev., just outside Las Vegas. He competed in combo motocross and dirt off-road events throughout Arizona, California and Washington.
