Auburn battled South Puget Sound League 3A rival Peninsula tooth and nail on Thursday, falling 3-2 in five games. Auburn captured games two and three of the contest, with scores of 25-22 and 27-25, but fell in games one, four and five 23-25, 16-25 and 13-15, respectively.

Leana Lui led the Trojans (0-2 league, 0-2 overall) with 15 kills and seven aces, with Simone Lui racking up eight kills and eight aces.

Celine Liuiamega had 31 assists, 14 aces and two blocks and Kelsie Green had five kills and three blocks.

Auburn travels to Enumclaw at 7:15 p.m. Thursday to take on the Hornets (1-1, 1-1).
