BASEBALL

TROJAN SUMMER CAMPS

Camps in BASEBALL and FASTPITCH are scheduled for June 23-27 at the Auburn High School baseball complex. Elementary-age players will meet from 9-11:30 a.m.; and middle school-age players will meet from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost is $115, and includes a T-shirt. Early registration is encouraged. The focus will be on offense, defense, speed training, throwing arm care, throwing programs, base-running concepts and position-specific instruction. The camps will be directed by coach Brian Embery. GRAND SLAM CAMPS

These camps are for players ages 6-12, and are staffed by local high school coaches and current college players who teach fundamentals in a fun, upbeat environment. Camps are scheduled for July 7-10 at Daffodil Park in Sumner, July 14-17 at Petrovitsky Park in Renton, and July 21-24 at South County Ballfield Park in Federal Way. The cost is $99. BASKETBALL

4SLAM ARENA TOURNAMENT

This tournament is open to men and women of all ages. It is scheduled for June 27-29 at the South Sound Athletics gym, 2450 S. 142nd St. in SeaTac. This modified full-court game is 4-on-4 with 8-foot hoops for junior and women, 9-foot hoops for men, 2-, 3- and 4-point lines, points for fouls, a continuous clock, a no-dribble zone, no free throws, and four points for dunks. AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW CAMP

This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 1-8 in the fall is scheduled for June 30-July 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day in the main gym at Auburn Mountainview High. The focus will be on improving and developing fundamental skills. The cost is $60, and $40 for siblings. The camp will be directed by Auburn Mountainview boys coach Jon Price and girls coach Chris Carr. AUBURN TROJAN CAMP

This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 3-9 will take place July 21-24 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day at Auburn High School. The cost is $85 for early registration, and $95 for registration on the first day of camp. The cost includes a T-shirt and a basketball. GRACE BASKETBALL CAMP

FASTPITCH

5-TOOL RESIDENT CAMPS

These camps in FASTPITCH and BASEBALL, conducted by Auburn High School and Evergreen State Sports, will offer three one-week sessions: July 20-24 (fundamentals for ages 8-14), July 27-31 (advanced fundamentals for ages 15-18) and Aug. 3-7 (fundamentals for ages 8-14). Camps will take place at the Brannan Sports Complex in Auburn, and campers will be housed and meals will be provided at Cascade Middle School. The camps will be conducted by coach Brian Embery. PUGET SOUND CRAB CLINIC

AUBURN RIVERSIDE CAMP

This camp for players ages 7-13 is scheduled for June 30-July 2 from 9 a.m.-noon each day at Auburn Riverside High School. The cost is $25 per day, or $60 for all three days. The focus will be on speed training, footwork, and position-specific drills, with instruction from the Auburn Riverside coaching staff and players. KARNEY’S 44 KIDS CAMP

This one-day non-contact camp for boys and girls ages 7-14 is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at French Field on the Kent-Meridian High School campus. The cost is $75 per camper, and includes lunch, water and a camp T-shirt. Campers should wear T-shirts and shorts, and tennis shoes or rubber cleats only. No previous football experience is required. Instructors will be a group of NFL players, including former Kentwood High star and current New Orleans Saints fullback Mike Karney, as well as local high school and junior high coaches. COED AND WOMEN’S CLASSES

PADI scuba classes will be offered through October by GirlDiver Instruction of Auburn. The course includes class, pool and open-water dives conducted in Puget Sound. AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW CAMP

BRITISH SOCCER CAMP

This camp for players ages 4-16 is scheduled for July 21-25 at Lea Hill Elementary School, 30908 124th Ave. S.E. in Auburn. Sessions will include mini-soccer for ages 4-5 from 9-10:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m., with a cost of $77 for either session; half-day sessions for ages 6-16 from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., with a cost of $99 for either session, and a full-day session for ages 10-16 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at a cost of $150. TENNIS

RAVENS SUMMER TEAM

Registration is open to boys and girls ages 8-18, with all ability levels welcome. The team practices on the courts at Auburn Riverside High School beginning June 26, and is open to players from throughout the region. Match play continues through July. Players receive 10 hours of instruction, a team T-shirt, league matches, and a multi-level league tournament. Sign-up forms are available in the main office at Auburn Riverside, 501 Oravetz Road. This six-week camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-18. It will take place June 24-July 29 on the courts at Auburn High School, and will focus on drills and tournament play. AUSUM AT MOUNTAINVIEW

The Auburn Sumner Tennis League at Auburn Mountainview High School (28900 124th Ave. S.E.) is open to boys and girls ages 8-18. Classes begin June 30 and run Tuesday through Friday until July 24. Times are 8:30 a.m. for advanced players, 10 a.m. for intermediates, 11 a.m. for advanced beginners, and noon for beginners. The cost is $85 for beginners, and $95 for all others, and includes a T-shirt, 12 hours of instruction, match play, play days with other area teams, and a chance to compete in an end-of-season tournament. AUBURN WRESTLING CAMP

This camp is scheduled for June 23-26 at Auburn High School from 9-11:30 a.m. each day. The cost is $65. The camp will feature Kirk White, an NCAA champion and three-time All-American, and an assistant coach this past season at Pac-10 champion Boise State.
