Auburn Mountainview girls punch ticket to Tacoma Dome with 72-57 victory; Auburn Riverside bows out with 52-34 loss to Edmonds-Woodway

The No. 10 Auburn Mountainview girls earned a spot in the state 3A semifinals with two wins over the weekend, including a 72-57 win against Mercer Island on Saturday.
The Lions (22-7) shot out of the gate on fire against the Islanders (17-13), posting a 37-28 halftime lead on their way to victory.
Auburn Mountainview had four players in double figures, with senior Aalia Braboy leading the team with 23 points and junior Cait Carr adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Hattie Kosko had 10 points and 11 rebounds and junior Erika Lombardo had 13 points.
On Friday the Lions beat No. 6 Lynnwood 45-43 with Carr scoring a game-high 18 points.
The Lions will play North Central of Spokane at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tacoma Dome.

ALSO: The No. 1 ranked Auburn Riverside girls were unable to hold off a second half surge by No. 5 Edmonds Woodway on Friday, losing to the Warriors 52-34 in a loser-out contest.
The Ravens (21-5) were up 16-13 at the intermission, but allowed Edmonds Woodway (23-4) to outscore them 39-18 in the second half.
The Ravens were led by Kat Cooper’s 12 points, with Brooklynn Hinkens adding 7 points.
The Warriors were led by Sydney Donaldson’s game-high 20 points.
