Auburn Riverside beats Auburn 64-57 | Boys basketball

The Auburn Riverside boys wrapped up its regular season with a 64-57 South Puget Sound League 3A win against district rival Auburn at the Auburn Riverside gym. The Ravens (9-5 league, 12-8 overall) built on a 30-29 advantage at the intermission, outscoring the Trojans (6-8, 8-12) 16-10 in the third quarter to hold a 46-39 lead going into the final frame. In the fourth quarter Auburn Riverside held off Auburn to win the game 64-57.

Mitch Wetmore had a game-high 19 points for the Ravens, with Quintin Bethea adding 11.

For the Trojans, Malik Williams had 17 points with Tyler Pray chipping in with 16. Mut Chuol added 14 points.

The contest wraps up the season for Auburn and Auburn Riverside, with the Ravens finishing in fourth-place in league and the Trojans grabbing the final postseason berth at fifth-place.

Auburn Riverside will host North Thurston (6-8, 8-12) in the first round of the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 tourney, 7 p.m. Thursday.

Auburn will travel to Greater St. Helens 3A League first-place Columbia River (5-1, 14-3) in Vancouver at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The district tourney continues Feb. 14 at Clover Park and Rogers high schools.

ALSO: Auburn Mountainview (13-1, 17-3) capped their regular season Friday with a 68-58 win at Enumclaw. The SPSL 3A champion Lions will begin district play at 7 p.m. Thursday at Auburn Mountainview against the No. 6 seed out of the Narrows 3A league.
