Running back Adrian Valona scored the first of his three touchdowns for the Tides (2-0) with a 38-yard run less than 40 seconds into the game.

Less than five minutes later, Valona added his second TD, this time from a yard out. Valona would finish the game with 55 yards on six carries, second in the game only to Gig Harbor quarterback Alex Davis who had seven carries for a game-high 98 yards and a pair of TDs.

The Ravens (0-2) played without their on-field general and emotional leader at linebacker, Vinny Le, who suffered a knee injury last weekend against Marysville-Getchell. The Ravens gave up 389 yards of total offense to the Tides, including 244 rushing and 145 passing.

Auburn Riverside managed just 80 yards of total offense, including 89 passing but losing 9 yards rushing.

The Tides sacked quarterback Kyle Sutrick twice and notched 10 tackles for a loss of 49 yards.

Sutrick had six carries for 10 yards and threw the ball 24 times with 13 completions for 89 yards. Gavin Hettinger, Rashon Miller and Dennis Beard had three catches apiece.

James Baldwin led Raven runners with four carries for 19 yards. Feature back Cole Huckaby ran the ball just five times for a loss of 5 yards.

Auburn Riverside will look to bounce back in its South Puget Sound League 3A opener against Lakes (2-0) at 7 p.m. next Friday at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood.
