Auburn Riverside earns berth at district tourney with 10-2 win | Prep baseball

Auburn Riverside secured a spot in next week's West Central District III/Southwest District 4 4A tournament with a 10-2 win over Emerald Ridge Thursday in a loser-out South Puget Sound League 4A sub-district seeding game in Puyallup.

The Ravens (10-10) feasted on six Jaguar (11-8)errors, posting 10 runs on just 11 hits.

On the hill Brian Darby earned the win with five innings of work, giving up just three hits and striking out five.

Reliever Brady Cummings had two inning of work with two strikeouts.

At the dish, Kevin Thomson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Brian Darby went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI and Gavin Hettinger chipped in with 2-for-3 hitting with an RBI.

Andy Santos added a double and an RBI.

Also notching RBIs for Auburn Riverside were Skylar Erban, Aaron Nguyen, Noah Freelund, Joey Galeno and Sam Gocken.

The win earned the Ravens the No. 9 seed out of the South Puget Sound League into the district tourney, and a 4 p.m. May 13 game against the SPSL 4A No. 6 seed.
