Auburn Riverside kept its playoff hopes alive on Thursday with a 12-5 win over Mount Rainier in South Puget Sound League North 4A action in Des Moines.

The Ravens (8-8, 9-10) will have to wait for the outcome of today’s Kentlake (7-8, 8-10) versus Mount Rainier (7-8, 8-10) game. A Mount Rainier win gives Auburn Riverside the fifth and final seed into the SPSL 4A sub-district playoffs on the strength of its regular-season sweep over the Rams. A Kentlake win relegates the Ravens to a tiebreaker game at 4 p.m. Monday at Kent Memorial Field to determine fifth place.

Kentridge, Tahoma, Kentwood and Thomas Jefferson have already secured the top four places in league, respectively.

The SPSL sub-district tourney begins May 8 at various locations.
