Auburn’s mighty Duck earns Pac-10’s all-academic first team

Oregon tight end David Paulson, a junior from Auburn, was named to the Pac-10’s all-academic first team.

Paulson, a 6-foot-4, 241-pounder who prepped at Auburn Riverside, became a two-time recipient of first-team accolades. The Ducks’ third-leading receiver with 322 yards and three touchdowns this season has a 3.66 GPA in business administration.

Joining Paulson on the first team were running back LaMichael James (3.01, sociology) and guard Carson York (3.70, journalism-advertising).

Paulson and the top-ranked Ducks (7-0 Pac-10, 10-0 overall) are off this Saturday but return to action Nov. 26 at home against Arizona (4 p.m. ESPN). Oregon clinches the conference title with a victory.
