No. 10 Auburn Mountainview sweeps by Auburn 3-0 in non-league action, No. 5 Auburn Riverside felled by No. 9 Puyallup | Prep Volleyball

The No. 10-ranked Auburn Mountainview volleyball team got their first win of the season on Thursday with a 3-0 victory over district rival Auburn.

Mountainview cruised with scores of 25-11, 25-21 and 25-17 to hand the Trojans their second defeat of the season.

Juniors Caitlin Carr and Kelsey Fausko led the team offensively with 11 kills and 16 kills, respectively. Fausko added two aces and Carr had eight digs. Sophomore Sam Odren had 30 assists and senior Alex Odren added 15 digs and an ace.

Aiubiurn was led by junior Isia Johnson’s nine kills, with senior Skyler Atkinson contributing six kills and two aces. Sophomore Brooke Goode chipped in with four aces and junior Saio Wilson had three aces.

Auburn, who fell 3-1 on Tuesday, will compete in the Adidas Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, at Auburn Mountainview. The Trojans will look to get on the winning track with a 7:15 p.m. home game against Curtis on Tuesday.

The Lions were defeated 3-0 by Puyallup on Tuesday. The team will compete in the Adidas Invitational on Saturday, then travel to Rogers on Wednesday for a non-league match.

ALSO: No. 5-ranked Auburn Riverside were unable to overcome No. 9-ranked Puyallup on Thursday, falling 3-2 to the Vikings. Puyallup came out on top in games one, three and five, with scores of 26-24, 25-14 and 15-7. Riverside won games two and three 25-18 amd 25-19.

The team was led by Brooklyn Bradbury who had 43 assists. Alison Wuerch and Maureen Sachs both added 15 kills apiece. The Ravens will compete at the Adidas Invitational on Saturday and host Rogers at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in a non-league match.
