Micheal Paulston proved to be a year older and wiser for her second appearance in the Class 3A state track and field meet.
The only time Averi Kitsch and Mackenzie Qualls might disagree with each other is when they’re asked how they got together on the tennis court.

Ross Wohlhueter of Auburn Riverside and Julie Heffernan of Auburn Mountainview both cracked the top 20 in their respective Class 3A state golf tournaments on Wednesday in Bellingham.
She spends seven innings almost every softball game throwing heat.
Sofia Malamura had a lot going for her last year. A school record in the discus. A trip to state in the discus and shot put. And a senior season still to come.
Auburn’s Don Stevenson is walking 13,000 miles to raise awareness and funds for Huntington’s disease (HD), a progressively degenerative brain disorder. He left Seattle on April 26 to complete the final 3,000-mile leg to New York City.
Humble beginnings? Travis Hanley and Josh Jeter didn’t even have those. Neither did Mariah Siemion and Peyton Prothero.
They overcame a slow start to the season and a coaching change in April.
Micheal Paulston is one step closer to claiming a state girls track title in Pasco.
They hit the heat and a hurdle last weekend. But as far as coach Chris Leverenz is concerned, it’s now a wide-open road for the Auburn Riverside Ravens as they head to Tacoma for this weekend’s Class 3A state softball tournament.
Melanie Roach’s long and painful journey is over. She finally is going to the Olympics.
