Trojans beat Tahoma 59-44 in SPSL North 4A opener; Mountainview crushes Highline 84-38; Riverside loses to Decatur | BOYS BASKETBALL

The Trojans got their 2010-11 South Puget Sound League North 4A off to a rousing start on Friday with a 59-44 win over the Tahoma Bears at Auburn High School.

Up 12-11 after the first frame Auburn outscored the Bears 20-13 in the second frame to post a 32-24 halftime lead.

Kevin Henderson led the charge with 35 points, with Daniel Wunder adding nine points and Nik Edwardson contributing 7 points.

The Bears were led by Christian Behrens with 19 points.

On Wednesday, Henderson scored 32 points, helping the Trojans breezed past Franklin Pierce 74-53. Iszia “Zeke” Johnson added 21 points and Wunder had 13.

The Trojans (1-0 league, 2-0 overall) will play at Kentwood (1-0, 3-0) tomorrow.

ALSO: Auburn Mountainview is off to a 1-1 start overall getting a 84-38 win over Highline on Friday. The Lions had five players in double digits, with JJ Lacey scoring 14, Marion Beauchamp posting 12 points and Aarun Rumbaugh adding 11. Neal Leatherman and Drew Sleezer added 10 points each. The Lions opened their season with a 57-53 loss to Emerald Ridge this past Wedenesday. Leatherman led the team with 11 points with Lacey adding 10. Mountainview will travel to Wilson High School in Tacoma for a nonleague game at 7 p.m. Tuesday… Prince Ligon had 19 points for Auburn Riverside in their 71-63 loss to Decatur on Saturday. Gurkirat Siduh added 16 points and Cameron Grad had 13 as the Ravens dropped to 0-1 in league, 0-2 overall.
