An argument over a game of dominoes may have led to the shooting of two people Sunday night at a duplex in the 1100 block of B Street Southeast in Auburn.
“It looks like an argument began, then a fistfight occurred,” said Auburn police spokesman Sgt. Dave Colglazier. “Our suspect left the residence. He then returned with another male, and in his return, approached the victim and shot him.”
The victim, a 23-year-old Auburn man, sustained a gunshot wound to his cheek and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A bullet penetrated the wall and struck the victim’s 48-year-old next-door female neighbor. An ambulance transported the woman to Auburn Regional Medical Center.
Injuries to both shooting victims do not appear to be life threatening, Colglazier said.
Police are looking for the shooter, who has been identified as Randall Hoxie, a 23-year-old Auburn resident.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Hoxie, they are asked to contact the Auburn Police Department. Hoxie is to be considered armed and dangerous. Citizens should not approach Hoxie if seen, but call 911 immediately.
Police arrested his partner, also in his 20s, arrested for rendering criminal assistance.
Police have found a gun but don’t yet know if it is the weapon used in the shooting. Detectives continue to investigate.
Police received a 911 call about the shooting at 7:13 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they discovered friends had left the duplex to take the male gunshot victim to the hospital.
Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a gunshot victim in the 1100 block of B Street Southeast in Auburn at 7:14 p.m. Units were responding south on Auburn Avenue when a car in the oncoming lane pulled into the lane of the responding VRFA Command vehicle and stopped. Two males, one helping the other, and one female jumped out of the car and frantically approached the command car.
Firefighters assisted and treated the gunshot victim in the back of the VRFA aid unit until King County Medic One arrived. The patient was subsequently transferred to King County Medic One and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
