Auburn High DECA to present ‘ReThink Money’ Finance Fair

Auburn High School DECA presents the basics of money management with a “ReThink Money” Finance Fair set for 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn City Hall, 25 W. Main St.

The fair, which is part of the “Road to Riches” Financial Literacy promotion, will offer a series of informational booths, seminars and competitions focused on providing post-high school financial information for young adults.

Mayor Pete Lewis will commence the event. Leading business and community members will be in attendance, including representatives from the Department of Financial Institutions, the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Moonjar, Jumpstart Coalition, BECU, and the Auburn School District.

The “ReThink Money” Finance Fair will display information and give financial resources. Seminar speakers will deliver presentations in 45-minute increments on topics such as identity theft, credit, interest, loans and wise financial planning. High school students will compete in financial based role plays.

The event also will be televised on Channel 21.
