Auburn to hold Arbor Day celebration

The City of Auburn invites the public to attend its Arbor Day celebration at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Les Gove Park, 910 9th St. SE.

The City of Auburn invites the public to attend its Arbor Day celebration at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Les Gove Park, 910 9th St. SE.

City officials, along with volunteers from the Auburn Garden Club, Auburn Tree Board, Auburn Park Board and representatives from the state Department of Natural Resources will be planting a fragrant snowbell tree as part of the Arbor Day commemoration. The tree is donated by the Auburn Garden Club.

Mayor Pete Lewis also will proclaim April 14 as Arbor Day in Auburn and encourage citizens to support the efforts to protect trees and woodlands, and plant trees for future generations.
