Free seminars designed to help those gain public works jobs

How to get public works construction jobs?

Construction law attorneys Saphronia R. Young, J.D. and Rita F. Amer J.D., M.A., will explain how with a pair of free seminars devoted to public works contracting.

Free seminars are scheduled for:

• Sept. 2, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Auburn Public Library, 1102 Auburn Way South

• Oct. 4, 2-3 p.m., Federal Way Public Library, 848 S 320th St, Federal Way

The seminar will focus on how to find out about jobs that are open for bidding and what types of public work will be getting funded; how to set your company up for success by being approved as a “responsible bidder” and the bidding process.

Future seminars will focus on getting paid for your work. Issue such as filing and foreclosing liens, what you can and cannot lien, prevailing wage, and more.

Economic stimulus money is starting to flow into Washington. These funds will cause a boom in public construction projects, such as public housing, roads, shipyards and more.
