Animal Critical Care & Emergency Services (ACCES) now offers an option for emergency and specialty veterinary care in Renton. The hospital – ACCES Renton – is the first 24-hour intensive care hospital with veterinary specialists in South King County.

Previously, pet owners in South King County had to drive to Tacoma or North Seattle for these services. The new hospital provides much needed emergency, critical care, internal medicine, surgery and radiology services to the pet owners of Renton, Kent, Federal Way, Tukwila, and Maple Valley.

Two Renton residents, Drs. Patrick Miles and Beth Guerra, will be spearheading the efforts at ACCES Renton.

They both have extensive experience in veterinary emergency care and are familiar with the needs of the nearby community. Alan Schreiner, DVM DACVIM, a specialist in internal medicine and a maple valley resident, will be available to perform ultrasounds and see difficult cases Monday through Wednesday at the facility.

The new 7,200 square-foot facility is located at 4208 Lind Ave. SW in Renton, across the street from IKEA. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week and features six exam rooms, two surgery suites, an intensive care unit, in-house laboratory and pharmacy and isolation ward.

The facility also will feature a conference room to provide a location for in-house continuing education seminars for the veterinary community. A shuttle is available to transport patients between the Renton and Seattle locations in order to fully utilize all the services ACCES has to offer and provide comprehensive care for all patients.
