Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, the Kent Fire Department and South King Fire and Rescue battled a fire in a detached one-car garage that had spread to an adjacent detached garage and a nearby home in the 300 block of D Street SE in Auburn on Thursday afternoon.

A second home sustained damage to the exterior.

All occupants were safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries.

One family has been displaced from their home and is receiving assistance from the Red Cross. Three vehicles also were damaged in the fire.

No fire cause has been determined at this time.
