Dog Trot: 9:30 a.m., May 22, Game Farm Park, 3030 R St. SE. Family-oriented fun run event held in conjunction with Petpalooza. Participants will follow a 3K or 5K route. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Awards will be given to the top participant in five age groups. First 100 participants to register receive a free event bag. Memorial Day ceremony: 10 a.m., May 31, flag plaza, Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, 2020 Mountain View Drive. Public is invited. Ceremony will include comments by Auburn Mayor Peter Lewis, a solo performance of “God Bless America”, invocation by Chaplain Michael Hursh, a color guard presentation by Boy Scout Troop 398, comments by Commander Bill Peloza from Auburn’s VFW Post 1741, and a rifle salute and taps by the Inter-Tribal Warrior Society. The Cemetery is also offering special office hours during the Memorial Day weekend to assist families. Office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 29; from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 30; and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 31. The Cemetery will display many American Flags on the grounds and each Veterans gravesite is decorated with a small flag. The small American flags are donated by the Auburn’s VFW Post 1741. Auburn International Farmers Market: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sundays, June 13 – Sept. 26, Auburn Station Plaza, 23 A St. SW. Opening for its second season. More than 35 vendors offering a variety of fresh locally grown farmed based foods, hand-crafted items and concession stands that are restaurant based but feature a home-cooked taste. The weekly market also will include free performances, guest chef with farm fresh ingredients, children’s activities from face painting to hands on activities to storytelling. KidsDay: 11 a.m.-4 p.m., June 25, Les Gove Park, 1005 12th St. SE. Free to the public. The event is specifically designed for youth in the Auburn area. The event features an entertainment stage, inflatable rides, mini golf, kids’ crafts, face painting, food vendors, more than 50 activity/information vendors and more. In addition, city officials will dedicate the new Barrier-Free Playground and sensory garden, an innovative 32,000-square-foot area placed inside the heart of the park. The event is being presented by the City of Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Department, Radio Disney AM 1250, Fred Meyer and Wizards of the Coast. White River Chainsaw Carving Championships: July 9-11, Pacific City Park, 600 3rd Ave. SE, Pacific. A 12-person field will compete for cash and prizes. The championships – part of Pacific Days (4-9 p.m., July 9; 11 a.m.-9 p.m., July 10; 11 a.m.-4 p.m., July 11) – will expand to a larger area and include a supervised beer garden, featuring microbrews by Trade Route Brewing of Pacific. Auburn Wilderness Girl Scout Day Camp: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., daily, July 26-30, Auburn Game Farm Wilderness Park, 2401 Stuck River Road. The SmileMobile provides dental care to children from low- income families. Auburn Mountainview Theatre Company presents Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s play where the audience are the eavesdroppers, witnessing the ordinary traumas of a normal Yorkshire family.
