Auburn Fire and Rescue Blotter | July 2

The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 192 calls for service between June 21 and June 27, among them the following:

June 21

Arson fire: 10:35 p.m., (Auburn). Valley Com dispatched firefighters to a report that someone had stuffed burnt paper into the neck of a vehicle’s gas tank. Gas caps were missing from other vehicles in the same area. The South King Fire Investigation Task Force is investigating.

June 22

Aid call: 12 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to an elderly woman who was not breathing and had no pulse. Firefighters found staff performing CPR on the woman. Fire crews with the help of Medic 6 continued CPR but couldn’t resuscitate the woman.

Aid call: 10:44 a.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to reported seizures found an elderly woman experiencing a severe headache and high blood pressure. Valley Com dispached King County Medic 1 for additional treatment and to transport the woman to St. Francis Hospital.

June 24

Motor vehicle accident: 2:22 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters responding to reports of a car accident discovered that an older man had collided with a parked vehicle after swerving to avoid a dog. Neither man nor beast was hurt.

June 25

Car accident: 4:47 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters from the VRFA and Kent responded to a two-car, t-bone accident involving one vehicle that had rolled onto its top. Firefighters treated four people, transporting three with minor injuries to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC) while King County Medic 1 transported a fourth with serious injuries to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

June 26:

Aid call: 10:30 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to a reported overdose found a girl with chest pains, hyperventilating. King County Medic 1 examined the girl, and a private ambulance whisked her off to ARMC.

June 27

Aid call: 4:05 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters helped an older man who had fallen, possibly fracturing his hip. A private ambulance transported the man to ARMC.
