Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Aug. 20 and Aug. 24:
Aug. 20
Commercial burglary: 8 a.m., 3204 Auburn Way N. Employees of Steven Weier Inc. PS found a back door broken and shards of glass inside the law offices. What they were after is not clear as no items were reported stolen.
Aug. 22
Theft: 8:30 p.m., 3600 block of C Street Northeast. An Auburn resident reported that thieves struck the back of his truck a second time and stole business tools. Police did not disclose a value for the tools.
Aug. 23
Bike theft: 9:23 a.m., 400 block of 23rd Street Southeast. Persons unknown stole a bicycle from a carport. Police did not disclose a value for the bike.
Theft from motor vehicle: 12:15 p.m., 1500 block of 30th Street Southeast. A person or persons unknown vandalized somebody’s vehicle and stole a GPS unit. Police did not disclose a value for the loss or a cost for the vandalism.
Shoplifting: 2:10 p.m., 1201 Auburn Way N. Some unknown thief stole headphones of undisclosed value from Radio Shack.
Theft of iPod: 1:30 p.m., 1100 block of 14th Street Northeast. An iPod went missing after a bunch of kids descended en masse on a friend’s house. Police did not disclose a value for the iPod.
Shoplifting: 3:52 p.m., 1425 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested three girls at Walmart for pocketing a multitude of undisclosed items without first going through the required formality of actually paying for said items.
Attempted auto theft: 5:45 p.m.,
1101 Supermall Way SW. A person or persons unknown tried to steal a vehicle from the Auburn SuperMall. The bad guys didn’t manage to steal the car, but they did leave with speakers from a stereo.
Theft: 9:35 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Somebody stole a man’s wallet after he had placed it on a video gaming machine and moved seats while playing at the Muckleshoot Casino.
Aug. 24
Burglary: 2:01 a.m., 514 Auburn Way N. Somebody chucked a big rock through the window of John L. Scott in an attempt to burglarize it.
