Dec. 21

Shoplifting: 1:06 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man for shoplifting a can of beer from the north Auburn Top Food & Drug.

Goodwill thief: 1:30 p.m., 1519 Auburn Way S. Police arrested somebody for shoplifting undisclosed items from Goodwill. Police did not disclose a value for the goods.

Shoplifting: 5:20 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Somebody stole a cell phone from the Sprint store at the SuperMall. Police did not disclose a value for the purloined cell phone.

Theft: 6:50 p.m., 23 A St. SW. Somebody stole a cell phone and iPod Nano from a passenger riding a Metro bus just as the bus pulled into the Auburn Transit Center.

Theft from motor vehicle: 7:30 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. An unknown thief smashed the driver’s side window to get into a vehicle and then stole a GPS unit from the glove box.

Theft from motor vehicle: 2 a.m., 112 E. Main St. Police arrested a man for thieving from a motor vehicle after the female owner chased him down, tackled him and detained him until police arrived.

Dec. 22

Theft: Overnight, 1610 20th St. NW. A business reported the overnight theft of an air conditioning unit. Police did not disclose a value for the missing item.

Mobile home stabber: 10:15 a.m., 4200 block of Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for domestic violence-malicious mischief after he stabbed the outside of his own mobile home.

Weapons offence: 1:40 p.m., 300 block of Auburn Way N. Police arrested a man for carrying a dangerous weapon, to wit, a double-edged dagger, on his person.

Theft from purse: 3 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. A thief stuck his or her hands into a woman’s purse and snatched a wallet from it.

More Goodwill thieving: 3:30 p.m., 1519 Auburn Way S. Two men at Goodwill concealed stolen gaming systems in bags and under their coats and left the store, but store security caught up with the duo outside. Police arrested them for shoplifting and then cited and released them.

Still more Goodwill thieving: 6:03 p.m., 1519 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a woman at Goodwill for shoplifting undisclosed items that she had concealed in her bra and purse without bothering herself with the small matter of actually paying for them. Police booked her into the Auburn Jail.

DUI alcohol or drugs: 7:09 p.m., 800 block of Henry Road Northeast. Police arrested a construction worker for DUI after he drove his personal vehicle through some bushes and into a ditch at Scootie Brown Park. The man’s blood alcohol content was .216 and .226, approaching three times the legal limit.
