Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between May 14 and May 17:
May 14
Auto theft: Overnight, 5110 Frontage Road. Somebody tried to steal a U-Haul truck from a lot on Frontage Road Northwest, pulling out the passenger side door handle and damaging the ignition in the attempted-thieving process.
May 15
Theft: 3:30 p.m., 100 block of 4th Street Northeast. A woman dropped her debit card in a parking lot then returned to retrieve it, but it was gone. Her bank said somebody had used it at least once since.
May 16
Postal theft: 9 a.m., 900 block of Pike St. NW. Somebody broke into a community mailbox between May 13 and May 16 and slipped away with the contents.
Vandalism: 12:45 a.m., 100 block of T Street Southeast. A woman said that overnight someone had spray painted “Pay Me” on the concrete steps to the front door of her home.
Theft: 29000 block of 112th Avenue Southeast. A City of Auburn employee told police that between Jan. 6 and May 3 an Auburn resident had stolen water services, throwing in a bit of vandalism in the process.
Theft: 1 p.m., 302 4th St. NE. Somebody stole a man’s medication from the clean-and-sober house he lived in.
Shoplifting: 7:20 p.m., 1102 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested a girl for concealing a ring and trying to sashay out the front door of the Walmart Superstore without bothering to pay for said ring.
Theft from motor vehicle: Overnight, 1800 block of West Valley Highwway N. A local business, undisclosed, told police that somebody had stolen a GPS unit of undisclosed value from a company vehicle.
May 17
Strongarm robbery: 9:38 a.m., 1402 Lake Tapps Parkway. Police arrested and booked into jail a 20-year-old man for robbery after he assaulted an employee who tried to stop him from shoplifting.
Theft: 5:50 p.m., 12400 block of Southeast 320th Street. A boy told police that another boy had stolen his HTC phone following an outbreak of fisticuffs betwixt the two.
