One of the players in a two-person traffic confrontation last week apparently couldn’t let go of his anger and stabbed the other driver Monday afternoon on the campus of Green River Community College.

The victim, a 33-year-old Green River Community College student, suffered a small puncture wound to his chest. Able to walk and talk after the attack, the victim was taken by ambulance to Valley Medical Center to be checked out. He was later released.

Auburn Police Sgt. David Colglazier said the attack occurred at about 2:30 p.m. behind the Lindbloom Student Center.

“They came across each other again yesterday on campus,” Colglazier said. “It was sort of ‘hey,’ they recognized each other, and the fight began from there.”

The attacker, described as a 20-something Somali man in a purple sweatshirt and black pants, fled into a nearby wooded area after the attack. Police, canine units and Guardian One searched the area but couldn’t find the man.

“The attacker is unknown to the victim, he just knows him by sight,” Colglazier said
