The state Department of Licensing has permanently closed its Driver’s License Examining Office at 3310 Auburn Way N., Suite H, and is redirecting drivers to the Kent, Puyallup and Federal Way offices. Customers, however, may still transact such business as renewing a driver’s license and ordering a duplicate driver’s license at www.dol.wa.gov.
Customers who must visit the office in person may do so as follows:
• Kent Licensing Service Office
25410 74th Avenue S., Kent, WA 98032
(253) 872-6019
Open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
• Puyallup Licensing Service Office

(253) 840-4591
Days and hours same as Kent office.
• Federal Way Licensing Service Office

(253) 661-5002
Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Auburn office is one of 25 that will close this year in keeping with Gov. Christine Gregoire’s plan to save money by reinventing government services. This closure does not affect the separate Auburn Licensing Agency at 124 Auburn Way N., where people register their vehicles.
