Dec. 7

Aid call: 5:13 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated an Auburn Mountainview High School student injured during wrestling practice. The girl’s neck and spine were immobilized, and American Medical Response (AMR) transported her to Auburn Regional Medical Center (ARMC).

Dec. 8

Residential fire: 6:40 p.m., (Kent). Valley Com dispatched Engine 34 to a possible home fire near Pacific Raceways. Engine 34 was the first unit to arrive, and firefighters found a single-family home with smoke billowing from the open front door. Using a pressurized water extinguisher, firefighters put out a carpet flaming near a wood burning stove. Units from Mountain View Fire & Rescue arrived, and VRFA units turned the scene over to them.

Dec. 9

Aid call: 12:35 p.m., (Algona). Firefighters helped an elderly woman who had fallen outside and was found lying on her back in a fair amount of pain. Firefighters provided care and arranged for the woman’s transportation to Valley Medical Center.

Dec. 10

Aid call: 4:50 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters and King County Medics treated a semi-conscious woman who had overdosed on prescription medication. King County Medics transported her to ARMC.

Dec. 11

Residential fire: 5:27 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters arrived at 2119 D St. SE to find a townhouse filled with smoke. Neighbors already had rescued a cat, but two dogs were still inside. Firefighters quickly got in, located and rescued the dogs and their work confined the fire to a couch. Investigators determined that the fire was accidental.

Dec. 12

Car vs. Pedestrian: 7:04 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated a female, no approximate age given, for hip and leg injuries after a car struck her in the parking lot of Nordstrom Rack at the Auburn SuperMall. Aid 31 transported the female to ARMC.

Dec. 13

Motor vehicle accident: 6:49 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to the 10500 block of Auburn-Black Diamond Road where a vehicle had struck a power pole. Firefighters transported one patient to ARMC. Auburn police closed Auburn-Black Diamond until Puget Sound Energy arrived to restore power.
