The Green River Community College Foundation’s Interurban Center for the Arts (ICA) hosts its annual Painting with the Stars fundraising event Thursday, Feb. 27.
The ICA provides training, materials and support for arts education in local elementary schools.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lindbloom Student Center on Green River’s main campus in Auburn.
The fundraiser features dinner, live and silent auctions and interactive art and student art displays.
Local artists will showcase their talents in carving, painting, Native American art, printmaking and ceramics creating artwork that will be available in the live auction.
Guests also will have the opportunity to become artists themselves and participate in collaborative artworks.
This year’s Painting with the Stars artists are:
• State Sen. Joe Fain
• Mayor Nancy Backus
• Green River Community College President Eileen Ely
• King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer
• King County Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Satterberg
• Maple Valley Councilmember Linda Johnson
• Elementary school principals Mike McCarthy and Laurel Menard

All proceeds benefit the ICA.
