Highline Community College presents GlobalFest 2009, celebrating cultures from around the world with music and dance performances, cuisine and cultural booths.

The seventh annual event – set for April 18 – gives Highline’s international students a chance to share their culture with the campus and local community.

Performances include Yamato Taiko drumming featuring HCC’s Taiko Club; traditional Vietnamese dancing featuring HCC’s Vietnamese Student Association; traditional Japanese, Brazilian, Turkish and Cambodian dancing; and the dances and songs of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children. Tickets are available beginning today at HCC’s Student Programs (Highline Student Union, third level) and International Student Programs (HCC Library, fifth floor) offices.

Highline’s main campus is located midway between Seattle and Tacoma at South 240th Street and Pacific Highway South (Highway 99); address: 2400 S. 240th St., Des Moines, WA 98198.
