LDS church welcomes new bishop for Lake Holm

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a new bishop for its Lake Holm congregation in Auburn.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a new bishop for its Lake Holm congregation in Auburn.

Daniel Dean replaced Rodney Call on June 22.

A bishop is the leader of a local congregation, known as a ward, with duties similar to those of a pastor, priest or rabbi. In the LDS Church, the position is unpaid.

Dean returned to Washington in 2013. He works at Hexcel in the tooling industry having previously worked at The Boeing Co. in Auburn from 1992-99, again in tooling and manufacturing.

He married Beverly in 1983, and they have five children, ranging in age from 17 to 30. They have four grandchildren.
