Auburn Police lifted a lockdown at Green River Community College around 1 p.m. today after a search found no suspects who may have threatened a faculty member.
“I do not have details, so I’m not even sure if we have a crime,” Steve Stocker, Auburn Police Inspectional Services commander, said in an email.
The college was placed in a lockdown this morning as police responded to an “unknown person” who threatened a faculty member, police reported. At approximately 10:15 a.m., the person made a general threat to a faculty member, saying “something to the effect that there was going to be a shooting,” police reported.
According to authorities and college officials, it’s believed that the person left the campus after walking into the parking lot.
The college was in a lockdown until police conducted a sweep of the campus as a precautionary measure.
