Motorcyclist critically injured on Highway 18

A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday evening after colliding with a disabled car parked on the shoulder of Eastbound Highway 18 in Auburn.

A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday evening after colliding with a disabled car parked on the shoulder of Eastbound Highway 18 in Auburn.

Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority and King County paramedics responded to the accident at 5:38 p.m. Sunday. Following basic and advanced life support treatment, the patient, an 18-year-old man from Kent, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle by King County Medic One. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

The occupant of the disabled vehicle, a 30-year-old Auburn woman, was sitting in her vehicle, a 1996 Dodge Neon, at the time of the collision and was not injured.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the collision.
