Peloza appointed to the King County Regional Policy Committee

The Sound Cities Association recently appointed Auburn City Councilmember Bill Peloza to the King County Regional Policy Committee.

The Sound Cities Association recently appointed Auburn City Councilmember Bill Peloza to the King County Regional Policy Committee, where he will serve as vice chair alongside King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer who chairs the committee.

The RPC is tasked to address county-wide issues and recommends regional policies and plans for consideration by the King County Council. Some of those issues include veteran affairs, human services, public health, housing, solid waste management, criminal justice, jails and district court services and the siting of regional facilities.

“The Sound Cities Association’s appointed committees ensure that we are advocating and supporting the 39 SCA member cities at the county level,” Peloza said.”It is vitally important that we work together to bring a better quality of life to our region.”

Peloza has served on the City Council since 2004 and serves on the National League of Cities Board of Directors; the NLC Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee; King County Metropolitan Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee; SCA; King County Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee; King County Water Resource Inventory Area; King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee; South County Area Transportation Board; Association of Washington Cities Federal Legislative Priorities Committee; and the Rail Transport of Hazardous Materials Ad-Hoc Committee.

Peloza was instrumental in leading the Auburn International Farmers Market. which is preparing for its eighth season at the downtown Auburn Transit Center.

He attended the University of Washington School of Business and UCLA, specializing in government contract management. He retired from The Boeing Co. after 38 years of service. His professional career was in contract management with emphasis in finance and budgets, cost and schedule performance and contract negotiations.

A Washington native, Peloza is a U.S. Navy Veteran and member of Holy Family Church. He and his wife Joyce live on Lea Hill in Auburn.
