The art photography exhibition of Mick Klass and Shek Lun Ho is on display this month at the Auburn City Hall Gallery, 25 W. Main St

The exhibit is open to the public during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 31.

An artists reception and opening is 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9.

Rural and landscapes and night time urban streetscapes are portrayed in the striking photography of Klass and Ho.

Klass displays artwork from his “The Light of the Night” series, which study interesting lighting, patterns and textures in unnoticed places and angles. The time from the last ray of twilight to the early morning glow of dawn yields hidden patterns that make for interesting, provocative images. Vibrant colors, stark contrasts and geometric designs are all favorite topics for his photography

Influenced by the outdoors, Ho’s photographs capture the peaceful balance between humans and mother nature. After moving to Washington from Hong Kong, he was instantly enchanted by the diversity, quality and quantity of unspoiled terrains and travels throughout the state to capture the essence of the landscape.

The Auburn City Hall Gallery is presented by the City of Auburn and Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation. For a 2010 Gallery Brochure or for information on other cultural arts programs, go to www.auburnwa.gov/arts or call 253-931-3043.
